Description
Supplementary feed for horses
V-Biotin is a doping-free feed additive that is used in the event of a biotin deficiency and, thanks to its effective triple formula of biotin, methionine and zinc, can help improve the horse's hoof and horn quality. A biotin deficiency can have a negative effect on hoof and horn growth, as well as its elasticity and resistance, and can even lead to scaly fur and skin irritation.
Biotin is normally synthesized in the intestines by microorganisms, but a deficiency can occur if the synthesis processes are disturbed, for example as a result of the administration of wormers. Methionine is an amino acid that is important for the formation of connective tissue and horn and the organism can form cysteine from the added methionine, which strengthens the horn. The zinc it contains plays an important role in the regeneration and formation of skin, hair and horny cells.
It is important to feed V-biotin over a longer period of time, but at least 9 months, since biotin can only be made noticeable when new horny cells are growing. Since the hoof grows an average of 1 cm per month, patience is required.
